Terms of Use
Last updated: August 22, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of My Trusted Trade (the "Service"), a local directory that helps homeowners find and compare independent local contractors. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Strategic Direct is — and isn't
My Trusted Trade is a directory and screening service. We list independent contractors and provide information to help homeowners research and compare them.
We are not a contractor, we do not perform or supervise any work, and we are not a party to any agreement, quote, contract, or transaction between a homeowner and a contractor. Any work you arrange is solely between you and the contractor. A contractor's inclusion in the directory is not a recommendation, endorsement, or guarantee of that contractor, their qualifications, or their work.
2. Our screening has limits
Before listing a contractor, we perform a screening that may include reviewing licensing, requesting proof of insurance, and reviewing references or complaint history. This screening is based on information available to us at a point in time, some of which is self-reported or provided by third parties, and it can become out of date.
Screening is not a guarantee of a contractor's license status, insurance coverage, workmanship, conduct, pricing, or results. We do not independently guarantee the accuracy of every detail in a listing. You should not rely on the Service as your sole source of information about a contractor.
3. Homeowner responsibilities
You are responsible for your own hiring decisions. Before engaging any contractor, we strongly recommend that you:
- Independently confirm the contractor's current license status (for example, through the Florida DBPR) and request a current Certificate of Insurance;
- Contact references and review the scope, timeline, and pricing;
- Get a written contract before any work begins and keep records of all communications and payments.
4. Contractor listings
Contractors are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit and for maintaining the licenses and insurance their work requires. By submitting a listing, a contractor represents that its information is accurate and that it is authorized to provide the services described.
We may review, edit, decline, suspend, or remove any listing at our discretion, and we do not guarantee any level of visibility, leads, contacts, or results to any contractor. Founding-partner or promotional listing terms are described separately at the time they are offered.
5. Connections and communications
The Service may help you contact a contractor (for example, by phone, website link, or form) and may record that an interaction occurred. Any resulting communication, negotiation, agreement, and work is solely between you and the contractor. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any contractor or homeowner.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service and all listings are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties regarding any contractor, any work performed, and the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing or other content on the Service.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Trusted Trade and its owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or relating to your use of the Service or to any dealings, agreements, or work between you and a contractor, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless My Trusted Trade and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your dealings with any contractor or homeowner.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, and branding, is owned by My Trusted Trade and protected by applicable laws. Contractor names, logos, and marks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify their listings. You may not copy, scrape, or reuse the Service or its content without our permission.
10. Third-party content and links
Listings may include information provided by contractors and links to third-party websites (such as a contractor's website or public review profiles). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content or websites.
11. Privacy
We collect certain information to operate the Service, including information contractors submit and basic interaction data (such as when a listing is contacted). Our handling of that information is described in our Privacy Policy, which will be made available on the Service.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Service will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
